Healthcare*man*ship

Usually I am offended when people use terms that exclude women (like saying fireman instead of firefighter or using terms like "manpower" to describe what is needed to solve a problem). I just came across an exception: "healthcaremanship" (<-- funny post, by the way). Guys, you can have that term.

I am really tired of endless wonky and academic talk when it comes to health care reform. It's about our health, so why don't we start talking about that? Also, it's about HIT and "meaningful use." I have worked with data (managing it, cleaning it, merging it, "harmonizing" it, etc.) for years and I want to share my vision for what patient-centered HIT looks like. To that end, I have begun to document my health journey (<-- static page I will keep updated). Below, please find a SlideShare presentation I created to document the first step of my public (and hopefully not humiliating) health journey.
